Mental Health Evening Program

Mental Health Evening Program

Mental health disorders can affect anyone at any time in life, creating symptoms that can be unbearable and distort your perception and sense of self.

But you can learn how to manage your disorder, develop healthy coping skills, and address your mental health issues as they come up.

At Blue Hills Recovery, we offer comprehensive treatment in a supportive environment for mental health disorders. Our mental health evening program is part of our continuum of treatment and a step down from our day treatment program.

Starting with a psychiatric evaluation, we provide a range of services at every level of care. As part of this treatment, our mental health evening program helps you begin the transition from intensive care back to your daily routine.

What Are Evening Programs for Mental Health?

An evening program for mental health, or intensive outpatient program (IOP), occurs three to five days a week for several hours in the evening each day.

IOPs have a specific function in a continuum of outpatient services. They act as a step down from a partial hospitalization program (PHP) which is a higher level of care that provides treatment all day long in a structured environment, five days a week.

Unlike inpatient treatment, an IOP functions at the outpatient level of care. Similar to a PHP, our evening programs allow you the flexibility not only to sleep at home but to begin re-establishing your daily routine through school or meaningful employment.

At Blue Hills Recovery, our evening programs continue mental health treatment for such disorders as:

Top Benefits of Mental Health Evening Programs

If you are facing mental illness, you can find several benefits at an evening program in our continuum of care for your mental and behavioral health.

Benefits of our evening program or IOP include the following:

  • Our evening program begins a transition point in your treatment plan that shifts you from a PHP to our final level of care. An IOP enables you to begin adjusting to your daily life while still maintaining a connection to the rehab program.
  • You continue to have access to psychotherapy, psychiatry, and our other mental health services, so you have support during this transition.
  • We provide access to physical healthcare services.
  • You can also take advantage of practical services such as medication management and case management.

If our evening program sounds like a good fit for you or a loved one, call us today to learn more about our continuum of treatment for mental illness.

Is a Mental Health Evening Program Right for You?

If you have completed a PHP and need to move on to the next stage of your treatment, our evening programs are the next best step for you.

At Blue Hills Recovery, we use the IOP or evening program level to begin facilitating your transition out of rehab. Ultimately, between our IOP and our outpatient program (OP), this transition is usually longer than our day treatment program.

If you haven’t been in an inpatient, residential, or partial hospitalization program, our mental health evening program may not be the best starting place for you.

Call us today if you want to learn more about how an evening IOP can benefit you.

Aftercare Options for Mental Health Evening Treatment

Aftercare is a critical part of your treatment plan. Just because intensive treatment comes to an end doesn’t mean that you will not need help. Aftercare includes continuing care if you need it.

Our last level of care is our outpatient program (OP), which acts as a kind of on-ramp back into your daily life while maintaining a connection with treatment through therapy sessions once or twice a week.

The goal of our OP is to be there for you as a sounding board as you manage your mental health or put relapse prevention techniques into practice.

Mental Health Evening Programs Cost & Insurance

Treatment for mental health can be expensive. But at Blue Hills Recovery, we believe that cost should never deter someone from mental illness treatment.

That is why we work with most major insurance companies to ensure that you or your loved one can get the care you need.

Just two of the companies we work with include Optum and UnitedHealthcare (UHC). If you want to know if we accept your insurance, go to our insurance verification page or call us so we can help you sort through the details.

Questions to Ask Before Starting an Evening Program for Mental Illness

When you are looking for a professional mental health treatment center, it is important that you know what to expect from their evening program for mental illness. The more informed you are, the better you will feel about entering a program.

When looking for an evening program for mental illness, ask the following questions:

  • How much time does your evening program spend on intensive treatment?
  • How much of the schedule is devoted to breaks or group activities without the input of a clinician?
  • Do you create individual goals based on a treatment plan, and can those goals change throughout the course of your program?
  • What therapeutic models do you use for mental health treatment?
  • How do you measure success in your program, and can patients spend more time in an evening program if they need it?

Knowing the answer to these questions will help you know whether this program is right for you. It will also help you feel more confident as you begin an evening IOP.
